James Gartner & Associates Architects, Inc. was founded in Santa Ana in 1987. Since our inception we have enjoyed a wide range of project types. Our extensive experience in restaurant design, specialty fitness clubs, carwashes, retail interiors, office buildings, tenant improvements, hospitality, historic restoration, as well as numerous custom and multi-family housing projects, has propelled our growth over the past two decades.

James Gartner, AIA is a graduate of Montana State University and holds a Masters of Architecture Degree. After graduation from MSU Jim gained experience working in the design department of a large Canadian firm in Calgary, Alberta. After enjoying international experience in Canada, Jim joined a very well known design firm that was located in Helena, and now in Billings, Montana. After a five year tenure in Helena Jim returned home to California to start his own firm in central Orange County. The educational background from MSU, coupled with high quality experience in design from Jim's Montana experience, has allowed James Gartner & Associates Architects, Inc. to excel in a very competitive industry. Our strategy is very simple. We will do the work as promised in a high quality manner, with integrity and professionalism as our number one goal.

James Gartner is honored to be serving on the Santa Ana Planning Commission since 2008. Experience with governmental processes has allowed our firm to offer consultation in expediting and entitling various projects that were previously denied. Clients often look to our firm to handle the submittal process in lieu of hiring a third party expediter.
